Likuyani Community

The Unfolding of a New Ministry

ongoing construction of convent Likuyani, Kenya

Likuyani, Kenya — St. Mary’s Likuyani Community began in the year 2017. The two sisters who are serving in the community are Sister Judith Sambu and Sister Lilian Awuonda Gor. They both serve in the parish and in the school.

At the parish, sisters offer their support to the Pontifical Missionary Children through workshops and seminars. The sisters also visit parishioners who are sick in their homes or hospitals, and also the elderly.

Visiting parishioners

We offer our presence to the people in the parish by joining them during special occasions like funerals, graduations and other celebrations. Sometimes we make rosaries for Christians who need them.

Teaching ministry

As educators, Sister Lilian teaches at St. Elizabeth Primary, which is a government school sponsored by the church. Sister Judy does her ministry as a student, and she helps in teaching when she is not busy.

The ministries here in Likuyani Parish still unfold and sisters offer their presence and assistance as the needs arise.
